Opening of the new molecular biology R&D lab

June marked an important milestone for DATANA as we are pleased to announce the opening of our newly upgraded laboratory, significantly improving our research and development capabilities.

Our dedicated Biotech R&D team now operates in a facility that aligns with their extensive knowledge and expertise. With an investment of over €250,000 in cutting-edge lab equipment, DATANA’s new lab is now comparable to the best biolabs in the region. We have added devices for electrophoresis, thermal cyclers, DNA/RNA UV cleaner boxes, fluorometers, spectrophotometers, and other state-of-the-art tools. These additions not only improve our research capacity but also streamline our processes, ensuring greater efficiency and precision in our work.

The upgraded lab significantly bolsters our biotech R&D efforts. Our researchers now have access to top-tier resources, enabling them to advance our work in DNA data storage and related fields. Furthermore, we can leverage our expertise and new equipment as Laboratory as a Service, driving revenue growth and opening up potential collaborations.

As our Head of R&D, Tjaša Stare, states: “Our proprietary methods for writing to and reading from DNA are both sophisticated and innovative. The enhanced biotechnology lab will significantly improve the efficiency of developing these processes.
